Putting the 'Heavy' back into Rock!

Heavy Rock; music for when your ThunderGod days are (well, nearly...) over.

heavy rock with the fat man

How the Fat Odin thing came about... the gang, we were all trapped in the pub one day by heavy rain and somebody said, "Bill, you look like a thunder god, go out and stop the rain".

So I say, "I think my thunder god days are over, I'm more like a fat Odin now"... and here we are :-) Plus, of course and more important, it's a lot easier to spell and remember than Bill Kruse - or is it? I get people asking for

Fat Odeon, Fat Odenin

; Jeez, what's so difficult about Fat Odin??

I wrote Kitchen Story back at college about 35 years ago. This is the first time I tried to record it, ever, unlike some of my other numbers that I've recorded over and over and still can't get happy with. This isn't perfect but it's not too bad. The vocal harmonies on it came out nice and that's an avenue I may pursue.

KITCHEN STORY

I came across you steaming with the saucepans
I saw the recipe's ingredients were in your eyes,
smoke from the stove wove patterns through our twining hands,
rose and rambling, lost itself in skies
All our days gone, wish that you'd been here...

We kissed across the range, and then we joined the flow
were melted with the butters and the peas,
were sifted with the flours, ran laughing with the beans,
hand in hand, we sailed the kitchen seas
All our years gone, still you don't appear...

I can still call the illusion
what once was near is now so far
now all around us is confusion,
there we were, now here we are...

Vegetables danced softly in the bubbling clear
onions wept and sniffled in the steam
flames danced a muted rhythm underneath the world,
the eggs remained unbroken in the dream
All our lives gone, soon we won't be here...

The shopping cart is actually on a different site where they're currently redesigning their pages so if you do have any comments I'll be glad to forward them on. Many thanks!

Kitchen Story is really representative of my softer side, I do two kinds of music, the heavy heavy kind and more melodic Latin-American rhythm oriented.

There's a heavy rock blog too - surprised, I'll bet!

There'll be news of further releases, if that's the right word these days, please sign up above to be told when they happen. There'll only be two or three a year, I imagine, and you can unsubscribe at any time. I won't go selling your email address to bad guys either.

Leave any message in the heavy rock guestbook

Thanks for calling :-)
