Well, finally nailed’em. In the end I used an amp/cab combination from the Toneport I’d never used before, a clean one. It stands out against the basic mix because it’s clean guitar as opposed to distorted. What I tried to do at first was to play one section right and then cut and paste to the other two sections. That proved impractical as I couldn’t get them lined up right. That stumped me for a bit so I did my usual trick and put it aside for a few hours. Then it occurred, why not play along on another track, not worry about too much about getting the notes right, just the timing, and then line up the cut and paste jobbies with the properly timed track which being right next to them would make it easy? As indeed it probably would have been. In the end I just played the damn things through till I got’em right. No problemo.
