What a drag, just found out that Brian Blessed is to play Odin in the Upcoming Marvel Thor movie. Bummer. This stronly suggests to me the movie will be a hack job, without any imagination or creativity going into it. I’ve never considered the other BB to be playing anyone other than himself since back in the days when he was Z-Car’s Fancy Smith. I can picture his Odin now, all bombast and no depth. Perfectly in line with the new apparent cinematic maxim – shallow is the new deep – but mightily depressing for those of us who can, along wth Volstagg, reflect on the glory that was Asgard.
