It’s just censorship of the internet by a backdoor. Once they get this through they’ll be able to ban any website they want to, especially (one imagines) any critical of politics or politicians in any way. They won’t, though, they’ll leave all the mild ones active so the uninformed believe there’s healthy opposition able to articulate itself. However, anything genuinely damaging to their careers or informative will be banned, and the majority of people just won’t realise. This is very bad. If you hand over authourity to a bunch of corrupt incompetents, obviously they’ll go any means to silence criticism. Vote for people like these, and what else do you expect?

It’s about genuinely healthy eating, the kind which will naturally promote weight loss in the porky, as opposed to the kind of heathy eating pushed by government, which will probably harm you and is most likely just governments pandering to Big Food with an eye to retiring to cosy boardrooms.
Carbs bad, saturated fats good. That’s part of the message. There’s more but I’m still figuring it out (went up to 319 lbs, getting it wrong somewhere).

This guy’s good too;

http://high-fat-nutrition.blogspot.com/2008/03/awful-offal.html

There’s a ton of useful knowledge on both those sites. Calorie counting appears not only to be wrong but demonstrably wrong. So is the whole ‘eat less fat’ thing. Why are we told it then? Because if you want to maintain your position as government or authority, with all the benefits it can bring, it’s important that You Say Big Things. They don’t have to be right, they can be wildly hysterically wrong so long as people don’t realise. Actually getting it right is probably very low on any political list of priorities. What’s important is you fly your standard and support it, using any means to silence opposition including punishment or ridicule. These are the people we elect, so we shouldn’t accept what they say. We need to research these things for ourselves. This is where my researches are leading me just now

I fry in coconut oil exclusively now as it can stand the heat and is
I’m interested in as I hear that’s why folk live to an old age in the
Mediterranean, it’s the walnuts, the omega6 and 3s, not the olive
oils they eat. Flax oil is superior again, I read, having a better
ratio of 6 and 3. I read Udo Erasmus, got the Fats that Heal book. Plus a lot
of web stuff.
Palm oil? I don’t have an opinion myself yet.
Cod liver oil I drink right from the bottle, I swig it every few days. If my hair’s dry at the ends, I need more. I don’t know if I should be replacing that regime with swigging flax oil. I should try that I suppose. I maintain that everyone in the West needs to be
doing something similar as we are encouraged to eat what’s profitable
for big business, not what’s right for us. The consequence is we limp
along like cars with the wrong grade petrol, mistaking that sorry
condition for good health. We all need fats, good fats, and generally we don’t get them.

My understanding is that glacial retreat formed the valleys in Wales and Scotland. Not recently either. This was all little me not turning my standby lights off? Oh please… data findings are open to interpretation and government-funded scientists will interpret data as the government tells them. If they don’t, they don’t get funded and can’t pay their mortgage. In line behind them are thousands of other scientists eager to sign up who will do what they’re told and consider it a small price to pay in return for the greater benefits of being able to pursue their research, whatsoever it may be. Governments, being in the business of government, are keen to see results that indicate people will need more government. Since they’re the ones who pay the piper, they call the tune. The whole thing’s a scam.

I was watching a music publicist on the telly last night, some conceited little oik, advising that Susan Boyle’s job is to sell records. Accordingly, it seems to follow as night does day according to this fellow, she has to be coached for her endless stream of interviews, told what to say and what not to say. “It’s her job to sell records”, he pronounced, authoritatively.
I disagree, oh oik. It’s her job to MAKE records, and she does this, superbly. It’s YOUR job to sell records, and that involves selling her together with her likes, dislikes and foibles to the public. That’s your job, not hers. It’s the job of the publicist to sell the product, not the job of the product to dumb itself down to the pont where the limited abilities of the publicist can sell it.
It’s amazing the way people foist their own responsibilities onto others these days.
Given what’s revealed about the day to day reality of being, ahem, a successful singer – you have to go on radio and lie all day – who in their right mind would want it?
Perhaps that’s Susan Boyle’s real appeal to the recording industry; having learning difficulties (as she does) she’s easily manipulated and not able to stand up for herself.
Being a successful recording artist is usually considered an enviable position, but really, would you want to be in her shoes, living her day to day life? Who in their right mind would want it?

This outfit is what you’d have left, pretty much. Musical leftovers. It is all very well done but listening to it I’m reminded of what Tony Palmer said in his review of the first Led Zep album, that Zep were the band most likely to fill the void left by the demise of Cream and that every song on the album had its sting.

There’s nothing so distinctive that can be said of the Vultures.

Despite the obvious empathy I’m going to have for something that’s fat, waddles around and eats a lot, this doesn’t fly for me.

The Shangri-La diet, and why it works. First thing in the morning, neck extra virgin olive oil. That’s it.
Bags of calories, right? Weird diet, therefore.
Yes, but you get to ingest quality fats which make your body function better for the rest of the day. Quality fats that you wouldn’t normally be ingesting as they just aren’t there in the normal Western diet. Even better would be flax oil or walnut oil, but they’re not so easily available.
Your body, subsequent to necking those quality fats, processes whatever it eats better so you don’t get so hungry. That’s the sense behind it, I’d say. He dresses it up with the whole “It has to be flavourless calories to work” thing to get people to actually regularly ingest the olive oil; I mean, have you tried swallowing neat olive oil?
Yech!
So he tells people to mix it with enough water and swallow it quick so you don’t taste it not because it’s in any way necessary for it to work but because he knows if people could taste it, well, they’d just never follow the diet.
So in that sense, it’s a con-trick.
But in the sense of getting you to lose weight, it isn’t.

Will & Grace creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick are to turn Justin Halpern’s successful Tweet into a TV show for CBS, I’m reading.
Why?
It works very well in the medium it’s in, but that’s it as far as it goes, far as I can see. A swallow now and then doesn’t mean it’s summer, and [...]

Will & Grace creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick are to turn Justin Halpern’s successful Tweet into a TV show for CBS, I’m reading.
Why?
It works very well in the medium it’s in, but that’s it as far as it goes, far as I can see. A swallow now and then doesn’t mean it’s summer, and an occasional very funny (and they are very funny) Tweet won’t carry across 13 episodes of half-hour tv. What next, Shit My Dad Says the movie? Imagine the premiere…

Instead of trying to monetise material sourced from Tweets people should be trying to monetise the Tweets themselves. They’d be better off trying to monetise Tweets than trying to turn Tweets into something they can monetise.

What a drag, just found out that Brian Blessed is to play Odin in the Upcoming Marvel Thor movie. Bummer. This stronly suggests to me the movie will be a hack job, without any imagination or creativity going into it. I’ve never considered the other BB to be playing anyone other than himself since back in the days when he was Z-Car’s Fancy Smith. I can picture his Odin now, all bombast and no depth. Perfectly in line with the new apparent cinematic maxim – shallow is the new deep – but mightily depressing for those of us who can, along wth Volstagg, reflect on the glory that was Asgard.

Back in the day.
