Meet you down on the crossroads,
You will know the way
I will see you in my time, aaaaaaaah-ah
Make my day...Turn your back on the future
Leave it crumbling down
See the light of my vision
Share my crown
(We're so afraid)
You won't fall down
(We can't be made)
We'll lose that frown
We're only dreaming and I, ahWe were so wonderful as we walked out on to the blue
You could know wonder too in the world that I could show you.Open up to my sunshine
Send your cares away
Take in all of my wisdom
I'm the way
(We can't be sure)
Believe then pray
(We must know more)
Stay don't stray
We're only dreaming and I, ahWe were so wonderful as we walked out onto the blue
You would know wonder too in the world that I could show youWe'll all fly in the city in the sky
Oh if only this were true
Oh if only this were true (hey!)I was so wonderful as I walked out on to the blue
Life would be wonderful if the world were just me and youWe'll all fly in the city in the sky
Oh if only this were true
Oh if only this were true...What was it all about? Hell, I don't know now... I wrote it back when I was forty-two, just to prove to myself I could still write something, I suppose. It's a good little microcosm of a heavy rock song, you know, rocks along, doomy lyrics, faux operatic vocals, obligatory guitar solo, etc. etc. It's ok though. I recorded this onto normal quarter-inch cassette tape on what was back in those days the only eight-track machine that would do it. From there it went onto the web in a RealAudio file, meanwhile the machine I recorded it on packed up so when I wanted to beef it up for contemporary distribution I had to download the .rm file, make it into a wav, import it into Mixcraft, then combine it with the Ozone mastering software (I used version three) and then play around with the presets and so forth till it sounded louder and, ah, betterer too, then mix it down into a .wav file and then into an .mp3 so it can be heard on my Bill Kruse page on ReverbNation.
